Lake George Triathlon – Olympic Distance
Welcome to the Lake George Triathlon Olympic Distance Race! Our Olympic distance race has been taking place since 2006 and is still growing! You will enjoy a great swim in beautiful Lake George followed by a fast and fun bike. The run is a 2-loop course that is spectator and racer friendly. You will finish with Lake George as your backdrop and then relax and enjoy some great post race food and hydration.

We had a great race weekend for our 11th Annual Lake George Triathlon Olympic Distance Race. A 0.9 mile swim, 24.8 mile bike and 6.2 mile run that took place in beautiful Lake George, NY. The race for 2017 will take place on Saturday September 2nd at 7am.

SWIM WAVES – 2016_Olympic Swim Waves
Please review the updated Course Maps. **- NO PASSING ZONE on the bike near transition! Race Start – Swim Waves start @ 7am from the beach across the street from Battlefield Park. Split timing provided by Score-This with times for each leg, T-1, T-2 and overall time.
We also have a Half Iron Distance Triathlon on Sunday – the Big George Triathlon. Or you could try one of the following:

Volunteers are welcome! Here is what we are looking for:
Swim Support: Canoe/Kayak/Paddleboard to assist swimmer or lifeguards.
Bike Course: Flaggers to direct the bike at turns & Intersections.
Run Course: Flaggers to direct runners at turns & intersections.
Aid Stations: Hand out water / Gatorade at either Run Aid Stations (Sunday).
Transition Area: help direct racers around transition
Med Tent: volunteer to assist in the medical tent (Sat & Sun).
We are also looking for Massage Therapists to donate some time.

Online Registration for 2017 is now closed! We will also have registration available on Friday night from 5-8pm at the Ft. William Henry. Note the Ft. William Henry Hotel is located at 48 Canada Street. It is located just north of the race site on Canada St in the Village of Lake George.
If you are NOT a USAT (USA Triathlon) member and do not plan on becoming a member by race day, you must purchase a One-Day membership for $15. This will be available online and at race packet pick-up. Please allow a few extra minutes to do this. We will accept checks (made out to USAT or USA Triathlon) and cash. Credit cards cannot be used for 1-day licenses. They can, however, be used for Youth and annual memberships. Refund Policy:
- We STRONGLY encourage to buy the race insurance offered when you register!
- You may withdraw until July 31 to receive back your entry fee minus the $25 administrative charge.
- If your request is received after 11:59pm on this date, you will not receive a refund – NO EXCEPTIONS.
- Entries are non-transferable between events, or between athletes. Entries cannot be rolled over to another year without express written permission from a member of Adirondack Race Management.
- You may NOT switch from a relay team to the individual category without express written permission from a member of Adirondack Race Management.
- You may NOT switch from one race to another race without express written permission from a member of Adirondack Race Management.
- If you register a relay, you MUST remain part of that relay. You may only substitute other relay team members up to one month prior to the race. There is a $25 admin fee for EACH change.
- Selling of your race entry slot is strictly prohibited. If you do sell your race slot, you will be disqualified from the race and you, as well as, the entrant who purchased your slot will be unable to race in another Adirondack Race Management event for a minimum of 2 years.
- If you need to withdraw, you must request a refund by submitting this form – ARM Refund Request
- Note that refunds are granted in accordance with our refund policy.
- Course changes: Adirondack Race Management reserves the right to alter, cancel or eliminate any portion of a race at any time in the interest of athlete safety or for other reasons beyond our control. No refunds will be issued if changes are made to a race due to these circumstances.
SWAG is only guaranteed to those that sign up prior to August 15th. Notice: There is NO rain date for the event. In cases of inclement weather, natural disaster, acts of God, acts of war or other unforeseen extraordinary circumstances, management reserves the right to cancel the event and/or modify the race course for safety concerns. Under such circumstances, there will be absolutely no refunds or transfer of entries to future Lake George Triathlon events. Each athlete must accept any such risk of their entry fee paid. Management reserves the right to reject or accept a race entry for any reason.
RACE COURSE INFO
Swim (LG Tri Swim Course) Waves will be determined one week prior to the race. There will be approx. 6 waves with 4 minutes between each wave. The swim is a single counter-clockwise out and back loop. Keep the buoys to your left. Exit at carpeted path and cross the street to the transition area… Swim cut off time is 1 hr from your wave start.
Wetsuit Information: This should be a wetsuit legal swim. See USAT rules for all questions regarding the use of speedsuits and wetsuits (USAT). Please read this brochure concerning your wetsuit and where you swim. (click here for brochure). Let’s keep the lake as clean as we can.
Bike Route (view course map) (Bike Course Profile) The bike course is a single counter-clockwise loop that has a few hills, descents, rollers and flats. Please note the changes below. It is not a closed course, so please remember to follow the rules of the road. There will be police and volunteers at intersections. There is a single aid station that will have water and Gatorade. Typically not many racers utilize the aid station, as most racers will carry their own water / nutrition. Remember – *No Drafting. There will be race officials on the course. Official Bike Cut Off time is 2 hours 15 min after your swim finish. (*note: 2:15 hrs is riding at 11 miles per hour).
The road around Million Dollar has been reconfigured. There is a mandatory – “NO PASSING ZONE” as you near transition. Please review the maps above!!!
Run (Run Course Map) (Run Course Profile) The run course is a 2 loop spectator friendly course that has some hills, downhills and flats. It will finish on the battlefield grass near the transition area. There are 4 aid stations on the course. Each will have water and Gatorade. *** Please review the maps (Map1 Map2) above in the bike section to see how runners navigate the new road behind Million Dollar Beach!!!!
***Police will be off of the course at 1130am. Aid stations will have minimal coverage after 1130am.
Transition Area (Transition Map) Transition will open at 5:00am on race day. ***Please make sure that you have your bar ends capped or plugged. As per USAT rules they must be covered in order to enter the transition area. If they are not covered you may not enter the transition area. Be sure your race number is on your bike.

THE 2017 SCHEDULE IS tentatively AS FOLLOWS.
Registration / Packet Pick-up:
Friday September 1st – 5pm to 8:00pm – Note the Ft. William Henry Hotel is located at 48 Canada Street. It is located just north of the race site on Canada St in the Village of Lake George.
If you want to rack your bike on Friday night – the day before the race – you may do so between 5 – 8:30 pm. We will have overnight security to watch the bikes. This will allow you to relax and save some time on race morning…
Saturday September 2nd – 5am-6am at the race site. Race start @ 7am. Consider getting your packet early. All racers will need to bring a photo ID, no exceptions! If you are a USAT member, please bring your card or you will need to purchase a 1-day license for $15. ALL Members from a TEAM entry need to be present and show ID – NO EXCEPTIONS!
Race materials will consist of the following: Swim cap, Race Bib, bike number sticker and race bracelet.
-The swim cap is color coded to your wave. Please make sure you have the correct color cap by checking the label on your bib. All swimmers must wear caps.
-The race bib needs to be worn on the front during the run. If using a belt, the bib is made from tyvek and can be worn during all 3 legs of the race. If not using a race belt, please make to grab safety pins to pin your bib to your racing jersey. Your running bib will need to be scanned when you pick up your timing chip on Race Day.
-The bike sticker must be placed on the bike so that it is visible to USAT officials. It will also be used to match to racer so that athletes can remove their bikes from transition after the race.
-The race bracelet must be worn to enter the transition area and the food tent. It must be worn during the race. There will be body marking on on Saturday morning.
Pre-Race Meeting: The Pre-race meeting will take place on Saturday @ 6:45am at the site.
Parking – Race Day More Parking information to be posted as we get closer to the race. There is now paid parking along West Brook Road and additional an parking lot area that runs parallel to West Brook. There will also be paid parking available at Million Dollar Beach parking lot and at the Village of Lake George parking lot – both on Beach Road.
Race Day Packet Pick-up Available at the race site from 5 a.m to 6 a.m SHARP!! Race starts @ 7:00 am. Chip Pick-up You can pick up your chips at the Score-This timing table. Remember to bring your running bib to get it scanned when you pick up your chip. Score-This will be providing timing for the event. If you have your own neoprene band for the chip you may wear. You can also use your own timing chip if you have it – please bring it to the scoring table. Your timing chips will need to be retrieved at the finish line. Please be patient or help us remove the chips after you cross the line…
Will be announced as we get closer to the race.
Bathrooms We are going to have porta-potties and a handicap porta-potty at the transition area. We are going to put 2 inside the transition area. The others will be near the transition area. The locker rooms at Million Dollar Beach will be opened at 6am. Also the restrooms there can be used at any point during the day.
Awards The awards will be begin around 11:30am.
Post Race Food We will have plenty of water and lots of food after the race. There will also be some fruit, bagels, cookies and maybe even some donuts. Food is for race participants and volunteers only and racers must have your race bracelet on in order to enter the food tent. Volunteers only need to be wearing their volunteer shirt.
Spectators Spectator parking is located all over Lake George. If you have family and friends coming to watch the race, there are plenty of opportunities for them to see you.
NO SPRAY PAINT ON THE ROADS PLEASE!!! Spectators are welcome to watch the swim start from anywhere along the shore. Million Dollar Beach will be open for swimming. Please be patient with us in allowing spectators to move across Beach Road. Our number one priority is safety for both race participants and spectators. The road is open to traffic, but will be controlled by the sheriff department. Please keep in mind that racers enter transition from the swim and will exit for the bike on Beach Road.
